Where departments raise their game.
Three ways I work with schools.
Attika English works with English departments wanting examiner-grade insight, current CPD, and curriculum support that connects KS3 to KS4. Every engagement is shaped around the department's specific exam board, capacity, and priorities
Examiner-grade marking on AQA-aligned mocks, intervention pieces, and internal moderation. Useful where teacher marking capacity is stretched, or where departments want independent calibration ahead of a high-stakes assessment.
Marking partnerships
Backwards-planned scheme of work development, KS3-to-KS4 sequencing, and independent curriculum audits with written reports. Available as project work or longer-term advisory.
Curriculum design and audit
Half-day or full-day department sessions, designed and delivered by a current AQA examiner. Topics include the 2026 AQA spec changes, mark scheme literacy, analytical writing pedagogy, and Year 10/11 exam technique.
Department advisory
Ongoing advisory work with English teams on a retainer or project basis. Brings examiner perspective into department-level decisions about curriculum, assessment, intervention, and exam preparation.
Attika English is led by Jeremy Bennett — AQA Team Leader for Paper 2 (10 years), current Approved Examiner, Former Lead Practitioner for English, with twenty-seven years in secondary teaching. NPQSL and NPQLL qualified.
Reviews
“I have worked with Jeremy as part of the same examining team, and I would highly recommend him for exam tuition. He has excellent knowledge of the mark schemes, developed through several years of examining experience.”
Devyani, examining peer (AQA)
“Jeremy is a phenomenally good teacher. He engages all manner of children. He cares deeply about their progress. He is a hard worker and very innovative. He's also an English examiner and consequently his inside knowledge means that he regularly has had the highest residuals across Maths and English in the schools he has taught in.”
