Where students surprise themselves…
Five ways I work with families.
Attika English works with families looking for serious, sustained support in GCSE English Language and Literature. Every programme is shaped around the student's specific exam board, current level, and target grade — grounded in current AQA marking-panel standards.
Examiner-grade feedback on written work — for mock seasons, intervention periods, or any time a student needs detailed, mark-scheme-aligned guidance on how to improve. Typical turn-around: 5 working days.
One-to-one tutoring
Tuition led by Jeremy Bennett — AQA Team Leader for Paper 2 (10 years) and current Approved Examiner. Former Lead Practitioner for English, with twenty-seven years in secondary teaching. Enhanced DBS-checked and registered with the DBS Update Service so parents can verify status independently.
Working with families across AQA, Edexcel, OCR, and Cambridge IGCSE specifications.
Who you are working with
Specific support for students moving from GCSE into A Level English Language or Literature. Bridges the analytical and writing demands that often catch Year 11 students out as they step up. Available as a focused summer programme or ongoing termly support.
Marking package
Weekly online or in-person sessions for GCSE English Language and Literature. Built around the student's specific texts, exam board and target grade. I work with families sitting AQA, Edexcel, OCR, and Cambridge IGCSE specifications. My provision includes between-session resources and termly parent updates.
Transition support
Focused short programmes ahead of major exam windows — mocks (Nov/Jan), full GCSEs (May/June), or specific weak-area work. Practical, mark-scheme-driven, designed to consolidate what the student already knows.
