Five ways I work with families.
Attika English works with families looking for serious, sustained support in GCSE English Language and Literature. Every programme is shaped around the student's specific needs, as well as their exam board and target grade, and all lessons are grounded in current marking-panel standards.
One-to-one tutoring
Weekly online or in-person sessions for GCSE, IGCSE and A Level English Language and Literature. Built around the student's specific texts, exam board and target grade. I work with families sitting AQA, Edexcel, OCR, and Cambridge specifications. My provision includes home-learning extension work, marking, feedback and termly parent updates.
Who you are working with
Tuition led by Jeremy Bennett — Team Leader for English Language Paper 2 (10 years) and current Approved Examiner. Former Lead Practitioner for English, with twenty-seven years in secondary teaching. Enhanced DBS-checked and registered with the DBS Update Service so parents can verify status independently.
Working with families across AQA, Edexcel, OCR, and Cambridge IGCSE specifications.
Marking package
Examiner-grade feedback on written work — for mock exam seasons, intervention periods, or any time a student needs detailed, mark-scheme-aligned guidance on how to improve. Typical turn-around: 2 working days.
Transition support
Specific support for students moving from GCSE into A Level English Language or Literature, and suport for students moving into UK schools and colleges. Bridges the analytical and writing demands that often catch students out as they step up. Available as a focused holiday programme, or as ongoing termly support.
Focused short programmes ahead of major exam windows — mocks (Nov/Jan), full GCSEs (May/June), or specific weak-area work. Practical, mark-scheme-driven, designed to consolidate what the student already knows, with a track-record of achieving swift progress, when needed.
