Jeremy Bennett. Examiner. Teacher. Founder.
I've spent twenty-seven years in secondary English classrooms. I'm a Former Lead Practitioner for English (Co-op Academies Trust) and an AQA Approved Examiner and experienced Team Leader. Attika English is what I'm building next.
The examiner thread runs through most of this work. Examiners see, year after year, what mark schemes actually reward — and how to teach students to meet them, whatever their starting point or exam board. Bringing that perspective back into the classroom, the marking process, and the curriculum is most of what I do now.
My family is mixed Ghanaian–English, and themes of transformation have always landed for me — in the literature I teach as much as in the students I work with.
Pedagogically I work in the Ron Berger tradition (An Ethic of Excellence) — craft, multiple drafts, kind/specific/helpful feedback, and the firm conviction that my students will rise to the challenge, provided that they are inspired and supported effectively. Dialogic teaching and talk-for-writing run through everything I do, from one-to-one sessions with a Year 11 to a department INSET.
Attika English works with two audiences. Families looking for serious one-to-one tutoring, examiner-grade marking, and transition support — UK and international, online and in-person. Schools wanting examiner-informed INSET, marking partnerships, curriculum advisory, and consultancy on the 2026 AQA spec changes.
If any of that resonates, the easiest first step is a 15-minute call.
